"Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful." These are the words of William Morris (1834-1896). As a leader in England's Arts and Craft Movement, he designed wallpaper and textiles based on medieval works and natural forms. His influence was so far-reaching that some of his wallpapers, in their original colors, are still in production, and many of his fabrics are now being reproduced for today's quilters.
Transform William Morris's graceful birds, flowers and vines into stunning quilts made using fusible machine applique. Michele Hill's book, with historical information, has piecing, fusible-applique, quilting and embroidery basics, 50 individual designs and six projects. 56" x 56" Morris Magic quilt shown. 120 pages with pullout patterns.
