A strip set is a group of strips that are sewn together lengthwise in a particular sequence. Each of these completed quilt strip units can be used as is or cut into smaller parts to be used for a quilt block. Learning how to cut quilt strips that are perfectly straight and accurately cut is essential to the completed look. If you are not sure if your strips are cut precisely, you can open them up at the fold to verify. If your cuts were not exact, you will see bowing at the fold. Pinning quilt strip edges in several places will help prevent slippage as well as the bottom fabric drawing upward.
