The black and white dashed eighth inch markings show on both light and dark fabrics. The dashed 1 inch grid lines ensure accuracy when cutting pieces for miniature quilts. Refer to the black diamonds when cutting 1/8 inch strips; the white diamonds when cutting 1/4 inch increments. Forty-five degree angles are marked from corner to corner - perfect for squaring up blocks. The ruler slides easily over the fabric until pressure is applied.
